Our History

Created in 1966 by two Quebec purchasing groups made up of independent merchants, Novexco is now the largest Canadian-owned distributor of products and services for workplaces.

  • 1996

    Foundation of Novexco.

  • 2000

    The three brands merge, creating BuroPLUS®.

  • 2008

    Acquisition of the Corporate Express wholesale division, including the Club Express® brand.

  • 2011

    Novexco builds a new head office and distribution centre in Laval QC.

  • 2014

    Novexco acquires Lyreco Canada, the largest acquisition in its history.

  • 2016-2017

    Novexco acquires Rubanco, one of its merchant members; Chestwood, a distributor located in the Toronto area; and Crites & Riddell, a 100-year-old company in the Montreal area. This included two new distribution centres.

  • 2018

    All sales divisions adopt a new commercial identity: Hamster™. The wholesale division continues to operate independently.

  • 2020

    Acquisition of S.P. Richards Canada.
